Tuesday, March 17th, 2009

He quickly got several offers. He called 3 of them. And accepted one.

The same morning.

And Saved £ And Time.

And got a sameday (Sunday) delivery.

Not Bad

Will Just Earned £65. A Sender Called Him Directly!

Monday, March 16th, 2009

So far…..you could search the site for stuff to delilver.

But now….you can get called directly by senders. And senders can find just those carriers they need.

How: A sender uploads an item. They can then search for carriers who cover the town / area they need, and can message or contact them directly, by email or phone.

Upside For Everyone:

  1. As a Carrier,  it’s going to save you time and mean you get contacted by really “warm” enquiries immediately.
  2. As a Sender, you see a shortlist of just those carriers you want. You can alert them or call them immediately. Don’t waste  calling carriers who don’t go where you need.

Saves time and effort and puts “warm” senders in touch with “warm” carriers.

It’s easy  – just join or upgrade to Carrier EXTRA.

INSTANT ALERTS TO CARRIERS WHO MATCH YOUR ITEMS DESTINATION.

Friday, March 13th, 2009

HOW? It’s called FIND CARRIERS and its simple:

  1. SENDERS - for FREE,  find carriers in exactly the area you need, and alert / contact them directly.
  2. CARRIERS - you get immediately alerted, automatically, to new stuff in your area and get weekly / daily emails about new stuff.

SENDERS – ITS FREE. Just upload your item, click “find carriers” and get a list of carriers who cover the area you need. Message or contact them.

CARRIERS - upgrade / join as Carrier EXTRA.

  1. See what you get:  (http://www.stuff2send.com/users/register)
  2. See what it looks like: (http://www.stuff2send.com/users/carrierdirectory )

CARRIERS, How does it work?

  1. You get alerts direct from senders, with a link to their item. Just click the link to see the details. Or, the sender may choose to call or email you directly (so it’s important to build a good rating so they feel more inclined to contact you directly).
  2. Senders  find carriers by links in My Account & Detail View (per item).
  3. Anyone can see the list of carriers. But only senders with a live item can A. find carriers matching their item B. message carriers C. see carrier profile.

CARRIERS, What do I do Now?

  1. Log-in (http://www.stuff2send.com/users/login)
  2. Click upgrade, choose Carrier EXTRA and follow instructions.
  3. When confirmed as Carrier EXTRA, go to my account / towns covered and tick the areas / towns you cover. Submit.

That’s it. You’ll be a Carrier EXTRA, and senders can alert you to new stuff that matches where you drive. Just wait to be alerted.

But Remember: It’s still wise to check the site, using the search filters, just in case a sender chooses not to use find carriers.

Amanda’s Story…

Monday, March 9th, 2009

Amanda Webster, who lives in Birmingham, used stuff2send.com in February this year. A friend suggested she try the site after hearing about it on Radio 2’s Chris Evans show.

Earlier this year, Amanda had her wheelchair stolen. However, thanks to a website called preloved.co.uk, she’d found two replacements. And at a very reasonable price!

The problem? The chairs belonged to a lady in Manchester who was also mobility impaired. How to get them from Manchester to Birmingham?

Amanda was not comfortable driving to collect them, and looked into the option of having them couriered. Sadly, the cheapest quote she received was £200…more than twice the price of the two chairs!

So she took her friend’’s advice and turned to stuff2send.com. She soon received an offer from a man in Stoke, for £20, which she eagerly accepted.

He regularly drove between Manchester and Birmingham, so the delivery hardly took him out of his way. Amanda made sure she was comfortable with the arrangements, calling him on his home and mobile numbers to confirm details and clarify everything.

On the day of the delivery, despite the snow on the streets, Amanda’s delivery, scheduled to arrrive at 11.00 am, arrived at 10.45 am.

“To have brought them right to the door was just wonderful, “said Amanda. “It made life so much easier, knowing I didn’t have to do that journey myself. I’d definetly use the site again; I think it’s a wonderful service.”

£45 for a Journey you Already do…

Wednesday, March 4th, 2009

£45 in Mick’s pocket, for delivering a parcel on a journey he was already going to do.

Not bad given the current economic climate.

And a whole year’s access to stuff2send.com for just £11. He’s made this back on ONE trip.

Loads of stuff to deliver all over the UK – rails, bikes, books, mowers, tyres, boxes, sadlles……….likely you’ll make it back on just ONE job.

Carriers – important. Please read.

Monday, March 2nd, 2009

We have improved the site so registered businesses can now include their GIT & Public Liabilty insurance details. These will be visible in your profile to help senders.

Please log-in to My Account /My details and update your insurance details.

Also, we are mulling a new feature on the site that would allow a sender, once they’ve uploaded an item, to search for carriers by towns. A sort of directory of carriers but by towns you cover.

How it might work – a sender with an item to go from Bristol to Birmingham would input both placenames in a search box, and see a list of carrriers covering these towns. They could then either message you or contact you directly (your contact details would be visible to them). If you wanted to make an offer (or agreed an offer on the phone directly with the sender) you would make an offer online, and they would accept it. This would ensure you are both rated – very important for future business!

It’s an idea at the moment, any comments or feedback most welcome: directory@stuff2send.com.

(If there are any couriers in the Berkshire / Newbury area, then we’d be delighted to meet you and get your input into the detail of it all. Lunch on us!)
