Amanda Webster, who lives in Birmingham, used stuff2send.com in February this year. A friend suggested she try the site after hearing about it on Radio 2’s Chris Evans show.
Earlier this year, Amanda had her wheelchair stolen. However, thanks to a website called preloved.co.uk, she’d found two replacements. And at a very reasonable price!
The problem? The chairs belonged to a lady in Manchester who was also mobility impaired. How to get them from Manchester to Birmingham?
Amanda was not comfortable driving to collect them, and looked into the option of having them couriered. Sadly, the cheapest quote she received was £200…more than twice the price of the two chairs!
So she took her friend’’s advice and turned to stuff2send.com. She soon received an offer from a man in Stoke, for £20, which she eagerly accepted.
He regularly drove between Manchester and Birmingham, so the delivery hardly took him out of his way. Amanda made sure she was comfortable with the arrangements, calling him on his home and mobile numbers to confirm details and clarify everything.
On the day of the delivery, despite the snow on the streets, Amanda’s delivery, scheduled to arrrive at 11.00 am, arrived at 10.45 am.
“To have brought them right to the door was just wonderful, “said Amanda. “It made life so much easier, knowing I didn’t have to do that journey myself. I’d definetly use the site again; I think it’s a wonderful service.”
